Drupal Timeline: Playful Game Celebrates 25 Years of Milestones
Drupal turns 25 today, on January 15, 2026, and the community is celebrating with a browser game inspired by the card game Timeline. Players are challenged to place significant Drupal events in the correct chronological order, testing how well they remember the project’s long and evolving history.
The Drupal Timeline game is easy to play: drag an event card onto the timeline, lock in your guess, and find out immediately if you were right. Each incorrect placement costs a life, and the game ends after three mistakes or when time runs out. A running score encourages competition, and the game works well on desktops and tablets alike.
Developed by Cezara Borsan with input from Nico Grienauer of Vienna-based Acolono GmbH, the project is part of the wider #celebratedrupal campaign. Players are invited to share a screenshot of their score on social media using #drupaltimeline and tag @acolono. Submissions are also welcome at celebratedrupal.org, where contributors can upload photos and memories from their Drupal journey.
The game is designed for birthday meetups, virtual calls, and casual play among colleagues. It’s a playful tribute to Drupal’s legacy, making its history interactive and just tricky enough to start a few debates along the way.
Play the Drupal Timeline game and join the #celebratedrupal challenge.
