Dripyard Releases Meridian Theme Built on Single Directory Components
Dripyard has released Meridian, a new Drupal theme created by Mike Herchel and designed for broad compatibility across layout systems. While optimised for Drupal Canvas, the theme is built using Single Directory Components, making it fully functional with Layout Builder, Paragraphs, and traditional templating approaches.
Meridian introduces a flexible design framework that allows site builders to significantly change the look and feel of a website through configurable colour schemes, imagery, and border radius settings. Visual demos highlight the theme’s ability to support diverse design directions from a single codebase.
Alongside the theme release, Dripyard has added several new components to expand its design system. These include background image, horizontal line, and content card elements, as well as layout tools such as basic section, grid wrapper, and grid cell. The updates aim to give builders more control and flexibility when structuring content in Drupal sites.
Although marketed toward specific verticals, Herchel said Meridian remains highly adaptable. He noted that its visual expression can change significantly based on the combination of components and assets, reinforcing Dripyard’s focus on design flexibility.
Meridian’s release also includes updates to existing Dripyard themes, Neonbyte and Great Lakes. These themes have been refreshed to support all new components and features introduced with Meridian, allowing existing users to benefit from the expanded system without migrating to a new theme.
The release reflects Dripyard’s broader effort not only to follow Drupal best practices but also to contribute to shaping them. With Meridian, the company continues expanding its theme ecosystem while reinforcing support for Drupal’s modern component-based architecture.
