Annertech’s ePlanning Portal Wins Top Public Sector Collaboration Award
Annertech’s ePlanning system for Ireland has received the “Most Collaborative Public Sector Project” award at the 2025 Digital Transformation Awards, recognising the nationwide rollout of a unified online platform for planning applications.
Built in collaboration with 30 local authorities and central government departments, the platform replaces a fragmented, paper-based process with a single digital interface. The Drupal-based solution allows applicants to submit planning documents online, access a central dashboard, and benefit from automated data validation that reduces processing delays. The project was led by a multi-agency steering committee and delivered by Annertech, a long-standing Drupal specialist, for the Local Government Management Agency, which manages the system on behalf of Ireland’s 31 local authorities.
According to Mike King, Annertech’s Director of Delivery, the platform’s success depended on balancing user needs, technical complexity, and measurable outcomes across multiple stakeholders. Now used for over 70% of planning submissions nationwide, the system provides 24/7 access for users and offers consistency across all participating authorities. The award was presented at the Mansion House in Dublin on 16 October during the third annual ceremony hosted by the Business Post in association with KPMG.
