GovCMS Now Live on DrupalForge for U.S. Government Websites
GovCMS is now live on DrupalForge, giving U.S. government agencies and digital partners a way to launch secure, compliant, production‑ready Drupal sites in minutes. A Drupal distribution first developed by and for the Australian government, it was later adapted for the US administration.1
The GovCMS template available on DrupalForge is preconfigured with the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS), Section 508 and WCAG accessibility compliance, and regulatory frameworks including HIPAA, FedRAMP, PCI, and SOC. Continuous security and compliance scans are supported, helping agencies maintain standards while reducing setup time and cost.
With GovCMS on DrupalForge, agencies can start quickly with fully functional templates, stay compliant through automated checks, and scale digital services across departments. More than just a content platform, GovCMS is positioned as part of a collaborative digital ecosystem where agencies, web partners, and hosts deliver citizen-centric services together.
DrupalForge is powered in part by DevPanel, which offers integrated cloud development environments and deployment flexibility across cloud providers.

While the name "GovCMS" originated with a Drupal distribution built and maintained by the Australian government, the U.S. version available via DrupalForge is a separate initiative assembled independently by contributors and partners. It is tailored specifically for U.S. government compliance needs and was not adapted from the Australian codebase.
