CKEditor Introduces Email-Focused Tools and Layout Enhancements for Drupal Modules
Gökçe Tosun announced in a July 10 blog post that CKEditor is rolling out notable updates to its Drupal integrations, introducing new plugins and enhancements aligned with CKEditor 5 v45.0.0. These updates span both the CKEditor 5 Premium Features module (v1.5.0) and the CKEditor 5 Plugin Pack (v1.4.0), released on July 2.
A key addition is the Email Configuration Helper, now part of the Premium Features module. It flags email-incompatible CKEditor elements in the developer console, helping teams build email-ready content directly in Drupal. The feature is available via a 14-day trial for Essential, Professional, and Custom plan users. Tosun also noted that Composer dependencies for the module are now optional, addressing long-standing developer feedback about unnecessary bloat during installs.
Meanwhile, the Plugin Pack introduces three new tools: an official Fullscreen plugin (replacing a deprecated custom version), Layout Tables for visual structuring in emails, and Empty Block, which preserves intentional empty elements without resorting to . A validation fix for the Link Attributes plugin also ships with this release.
While the blog introduces practical improvements, it leans toward feature listing over user context or use-case demos. The announcement signals a shift toward more consistent communication from the CKEditor team on Drupal module development.
