Drupal MeetUp Nara Highlights DX Career Growth Opportunities

The Drupal Meetup Nara's February edition, held on the 28^th, brought together DX professionals, career changers, and industry experts to explore career development in digital transformation (DX). Held at the Nara Convention Center, the event focused on the growing opportunities in the DX field and how Drupal serves as a key tool in career advancement.

The meetup kicked off with discussions on career-building strategies in DX, emphasizing Drupal’s role as a powerful platform for digital professionals. Attendees gained insights into Japan’s Digital Skill Standard, established by the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI), highlighting essential skills for DX careers.

A panel discussion featured Masami Suzuki, a Drupal engineer who balances work and parenting, and Fukagawa, who transitioned from another industry into DX. They shared personal experiences and discussed challenges, industry benefits, and work-life balance.

Naoe, organizer of Drupal MeetUp Haneda, presented the latest Drupal trends, emphasizing its security model and active global community.

Miki Yoshida, a key organizer of the event, highlighted the broader vision:  

"Drupal MeetUp Nara is part of our effort to raise awareness of Drupal in Japan. We believe that if activities in the historic city of Nara flourish, the number of Drupal engineers in Japan will also grow. Currently, we are targeting young people who prioritize parenting, but in the future, we also want to reach those who wish to work globally while living in Nara, as well as students who hope to build their careers without having to relocate."

Participants praised the event for offering career insights and networking opportunities. The next meetup on March 21, 2025, will focus on remote work in the DX industry, providing a deeper look into flexible career options.
