FreelyGive Sponsors Jürgen Haas to Accelerate Drupal AI and ECA Ecosystem Integration
FreelyGive Ltd has partnered with long-time Drupal contributor Jürgen Haas to advance the Drupal AI and ECA (Event-Condition-Action) ecosystems, focusing on bringing no-code automation and AI orchestration tools closer together. The collaboration, announced following meetings at DrupalCon Atlanta, will support Jürgen Haas in dedicating significant time to the development of his Modeler API and deeper integration between AI workflows and the ECA module. This initiative is designed to make it easier for non-developers to create and manage AI agent flows within the Drupal framework.
FreelyGive Director James Abrahams emphasized the potential of this work, stating,
“We’re obsessed with AI and are always looking for others who share our passion for Drupal, AI, and the vision of an open AI orchestration framework that anyone can use.”
The decision to sponsor Haas came after recognizing clear synergies between the AI and ECA communities and a shared goal of expanding automation capabilities within Drupal.
Haas, a Drupal expert with nearly two decades of experience and co-founder of German Drupal agency LakeDrops, will focus on improving tooling around logging, testing, and managing AI agents in a consistent and user-friendly way. His work will ensure compatibility with both Drupal and ECA, while also aligning with developments in the broader AI community outside of Drupal.
The partnership will culminate in new feature releases and demonstrations at DrupalCon Vienna 2025, where the team aims to showcase progress and gather community feedback.
