The Go Ask Alice! website faced significant challenges due to its outdated design and an older codebase that hindered digital accessibility. These issues not only affected the user experience but also risked diminishing the trust of its young audience. To address these concerns, Oomph collaborated with the Go Ask Alice! team to revamp the website, aiming to create a more engaging and user-friendly platform. The redesign focused on reaffirming the brand's identity as a non-judgmental resource while enhancing the efficiency of content creation for the team.

Go Ask Alice! is a unique question-and-answer platform that serves as a reliable health resource for college students, particularly those at Columbia University. The redesign process emphasized the importance of a modern and relevant interface that resonates with its primary audience—digital natives. Oomph's approach involved creating a fun and approachable user interface that respects the serious nature of the questions posed by users, ensuring that the site remains a trusted source of information.

One of the key aspects of the redesign was the focus on mobile usability, as younger generations are less likely to trust websites that do not cater to mobile screens. The design process prioritized the mobile experience, ensuring that essential features such as filters and citations were easily accessible. Additionally, the redesign incorporated a unique visual identity that shifted the primary color palette away from Columbia Health's blue, allowing Go Ask Alice! to establish its own brand presence.

To enhance user engagement and safety, several new features were introduced, including a Quick Exit button for sensitive inquiries and a feedback mechanism for answers. These enhancements not only improve the user experience but also provide valuable insights to the Go Ask Alice! team. The redesign ultimately aimed to foster a sense of community and trust among users, encouraging them to explore existing answers before submitting new questions, thereby streamlining the inquiry process.
