Sharp Europe’s Digital Transformation: A Drupal Case Study from the Inside

Sharp Europe Validates Drupal’s Enterprise Strength in High-Impact DrupalCon Nara Keynote

Sharp Europe took the spotlight in a Drupal.org blog post by Ryan Witcombe, showcasing how the electronics multinational uses Drupal to manage digital experiences for 120,000 enterprise customers across 48 countries and 17 multilingual sites.

Operating across 63 offices and supporting 11 currencies, Sharp Europe generates €13.5 billion annually, with 40 % of that from B2B services. To modernize its martech stack, Sharp turned to Drupal, drawn by its enterprise-grade architecture, open-source flexibility, and robust API support. A key factor in success was the close partnership with 1xINTERNET, a certified Drupal provider embedded into the digital team.

The implementation now spans 17 sites in 19 languages and has delivered improvements in accessibility compliance, A/B testing, and user experience alignment across markets. One unexpected insight: building custom features in Drupal proved more economical than modifying commercial software. Key lessons shared by Sharp leaders include treating digital partners as team members, planning continuous investment, and upholding stringent security standards.

“Even with the best tech in the world, we need the right partner. If you fail with security, there is a very high price to pay.” — Jason Cort
