Adaptive Integrates Interact AI with AX+ to Simplify Conversational Features in Drupal

This latest release continues a clear trajectory for Adaptive in 2025. First, the company introduced AX+ Toolkit to modernize the Drupal admin experience through prebuilt components, streamlined workflows, and an improved UI for editors. Next came Interact Links, which enabled contextual AI-powered prompts and navigation on the front end.

Now, Adaptive has brought these two threads together by embedding Interact capabilities directly into the AX+ system—making conversational features as configurable and reusable as any content component.

Interact allows site teams to define conversational prompts that launch a real-time AI widget, guiding users through support flows, navigation, or discovery journeys. These prompts are embedded where users interact most—within content itself.

AX+, introduced earlier in the year, allows non-technical teams to build layout components and page sections without custom code. It focuses on speed, consistency, and editor autonomy—laying the groundwork for seamless AI integration.

The Interact–AX+ integration introduces several pathways for embedding conversational triggers:

1. Embedded Interact in AX+ Components

Editors can toggle Interact icons for headers, body text, or both within supported components like “Text with Header & Link.” Prompts are entered in the settings—one per line—and launch the widget upon user interaction.

2. Dual-Function Interact Buttons

The AX+ Link component now supports buttons that act both as standard links and AI triggers. Editors can choose button styles, assign labels, and configure prompts—all from within the UI.

3. Inline Interact Links via WYSIWYG

For more granular control, editors can insert Interact links into body text using the WYSIWYG editor. Setting the link URL to <interact-trigger> and entering prompts (separated by |) in the title field activates inline conversational links.

While AX+ offers the most streamlined experience, Adaptive confirms that Interact can also be configured on non-AX+ Drupal builds using alternative tools—ensuring wider accessibility.

With this integration, Adaptive completes a significant milestone in its 2025 roadmap: combining editorial freedom with conversational AI, all within a structured Drupal environment. From admin UX to front-end interaction, the company continues to reduce technical barriers for adding smart, guided experiences to enterprise websites.
