ISPA and Javali Maintain Long-Term Drupal Ecosystem Across Academic Services
The ISPA digital ecosystem, developed in partnership with Javali since 2012, exemplifies a sustainable, evolving use of Drupal to support institutional communication, operations, and academic services across more than a decade.
Originally launched on Drupal 6 and now operating on Drupal 10, the ISPA platform has grown into a robust ecosystem that includes a centralized intranet, e-commerce services, job portals, and microsites for various departments and academic centers. The system serves students, faculty, alumni, and administrative teams through a modular architecture anchored in the Domain module and Drupal Commerce.
Key components include the ISPADigital intranet, which integrates ESCA and SIBS systems for academic and payment management. It features dynamic forms, custom workflows, and content dashboards tailored for different user roles. Departmental websites and services operate as unified microsites under a shared platform, balancing editorial autonomy with visual consistency.
The job portal, built with JAVALI's UPJobs module, connects students and alumni with employment opportunities and is integrated into the institution’s academic services. A Drupal Commerce-powered online store supports product and event transactions, aligned with internal invoicing workflows.
To maintain technical continuity, JAVALI applied a gradual migration strategy across versions, ensuring backward compatibility and long-term maintainability. The partnership has contributed code enhancements and configuration strategies back to the Drupal community, positioning the ISPA ecosystem as a model of digital infrastructure sustainability in higher education.
