Creodrop Promises One-Click Drupal Hosting Without the DevOps Headache
Creodrop is a new managed hosting platform for Drupal that promises a smoother experience for developers and site builders alike. Created by J. D. Flynn, the project targets the long-standing gap between Drupal's powerful CMS capabilities and the often complex, developer-heavy hosting setups required to launch and manage sites.
Flynn describes Creodrop as “Squarespace simplicity with Drupal power,” offering one-click deployments, visual site building, and no required DevOps expertise. Developers who prefer traditional workflows are also supported, with Git-based deployment remaining an option. The platform is designed to be flexible enough for both non-technical users and seasoned developers.
Launched alongside the upcoming Drupal CMS 2.0, which introduces a visual page builder and improved UX, Creodrop positions itself within a broader shift to make Drupal more accessible. While the CMS is evolving, Flynn notes that hosting for small sites remains outdated and hopes to address that gap with Creodrop.
“If you've ever wished Drupal hosting didn't suck, or you're just curious about modern Drupal, I'd love your feedback.”
The project is being built during nights and weekends and is not a VC-backed venture. Flynn credits HeroDevs, his current employer, for supporting side projects. Creodrop is intended as a sustainable initiative aimed at improving the Drupal experience for a wider range of users.
