Rachael Censuales Debuts as a Speaker at DrupalCamp Italy 2025
When Rachael Censuales steps up to deliver her first-ever talk at DrupalCamp Italy, she won’t just be presenting code. She’ll be sharing a journey. From junior developer to conference speaker, Rachael represents a new generation of talent in the Drupal ecosystem, blending curiosity, mentorship, and emerging technology.
Her session, "Unlocking New Capabilities in Drupal with OpenAI Integration," explores how GPT-powered tools can extend Drupal’s core functionality. Attendees will get a hands-on look at using the Drupal AI and OpenAI API Provider modules to generate and summarise content, answer user queries, and build ChatGPT-style search features using vector databases—all without the need for fine-tuning.
“This integration of Drupal and ChatGPT has the potential to revolutionise user interaction with websites and web applications by providing a more natural and intuitive experience.”
A student at the Steve Jobs Academy and a junior developer with a passion for backend development, Rachael has been exploring web technologies like PHP, JavaScript, and Next.js through practical projects. Her journey into Drupal began with Progetto CODE and took a defining turn thanks to her mentor, Vincenzo Gambino, a veteran Drupal architect and speaker.
“I was inspired by my mentor, Vincenzo, who first introduced me to Drupal,” she says. “His passion for the community really encouraged me to take this step and share my experience at DrupalCamp Italy. It feels like a great opportunity to grow and connect with others who share the same enthusiasm.”
For Rachael, it’s not just about the tech. It’s about the people.
“The Drupal community has been incredibly supportive, always open to sharing ideas, tools, and feedback. That collaborative spirit really helped me shape this talk.”
Held at Sapienza University in the heart of Rome, DrupalCamp Italy 2025 brings together developers, designers, and project managers for the country’s largest Drupal-focused event. With sessions covering innovation, performance, and community building, Rachael’s debut is a standout moment that highlights the impact of mentorship and the promise of fresh voices in open source.
She may be new to the stage, but she’s not just testing the waters. She’s diving in.
