Palermo Drupal Meetup Happens Tomorrow with Talks on AI, Kubernetes and React

The Palermo Drupal Meetup on Thursday 6 November will bring together Drupal professionals and newcomers at Cre.Zi. Plus in Cantieri Culturali della Zisa for an evening of technical talks, real-world case studies and community networking.

Organized by Vincenzo Gambino and Francesco Maria B., the event starts at 6:00 PM CET and runs until 9:00 PM. The gathering will be held at Via Paolo Gili 4, halls 10 and 11, and is open to developers, designers, SREs and content specialists interested in Drupal innovation and collaboration.

The program includes four focused presentations. Fabrizio Galiano, a Site Reliability Engineer, will introduce container orchestration in his talk on moving from Docker to Kubernetes. Marcus Johansson, Tech Lead of the Drupal AI Initiative, will discuss upcoming AI capabilities, how they are being integrated into Drupal, and what contributors can expect in the modules roadmap. Drupal architect Vincenzo Gambino and junior developer Rachael Censuales will demonstrate how a conversational VAPI assistant can connect with Drupal to interact with site data and trigger workflows. Giuseppe Piazza and Vincenzo Cucinella will present a case study on transitioning from a monolithic Drupal site to a JSON:API-powered ecosystem of React minisites designed for business-specific needs.

The meetup will conclude with an aperitif for registered attendees, offering time to connect informally with speakers and local professionals. Adding a festive note to the evening, MIFFY - the official mascot of DrupalCon Rotterdam 2026, will make a special guest appearance, connecting the local event with the broader global Drupal community.
