Mautic Conference 2025 Starts Today in London with Global Hybrid Format and Community Focus
The Mautic community’s most significant annual event, Mautic World Conference 2025, officially opens today at the Sea Containers hotel in London. Running from November 3 to 7, the five-day hybrid conference brings together users, developers, marketers, and contributors of the open-source marketing automation platform, Mautic, which powers marketing for tens of thousands of businesses worldwide.
This year marks a return to Europe for the global event, which rotates its physical location annually to ensure geographic diversity and inclusion. The conference format is split between an in-person segment from November 3 to 5, and a globally accessible online portion on November 6 and 7. While attendance at the London venue is capped at around 200 participants, the online program is expected to attract hundreds more from across continents.
Mautic was founded on the principle of equality, to give every individual and organisation access to powerful marketing automation tools and the knowledge to use them effectively. That philosophy remains central to this year’s event.
According to Sven Döring, a member of the conference’s organising team and lead of the Mautic marketing team, the aim is
“not only to benefit from the ability to use marketing automation like the ‘big players’, but also to profit from the knowledge about marketing automation and marketing in general.”
He also emphasised the importance of data control and privacy:
“We want to show the world that you can do marketing automation in a way that keeps you in control of your data as well as keeps the data privacy for your contacts front and centre.”
The in-person conference in London will unfold across two parallel tracks of talks and workshops. A highlight of the program is the speaker lineup, which includes Gee Ranasinha of KEXINO, who will explore psychological aspects of marketing; Mike Hillyer of KumoMTA, who will focus on high-scale email delivery; and Ruth Cheesley, the Mautic Project Lead, who will present on the current “State of Mautic.” These sessions, like all others, were selected through a rigorous panel process. As Ruth explained,
“We have a judging panel that reviews all the sessions and votes independently. This is accumulated and scored, and we select the lineup accordingly for both the in-person and the online event.”
The intention is to give attendees a combination of strategic insight and hands-on knowledge.
“We hope that attendees leave with great insights into how they can supercharge their marketing work,” she added, “and also for those using Mautic, some deep dives into best practice and innovative uses of Mautic.”
The second day of the London event, November 4, is designated as Community Day, a hands-on contribution sprint where attendees are invited to directly support the Mautic project. Contributions are not limited to code.
“As team lead for the marketing team, I want to assure anybody to come and join us, no technical skills necessary.”
Sven said.
“We want — for example — to shape the communications about the upcoming launch of our Mautic Version 7 release. Creating visuals and copy that highlight the benefits that companies and individuals can gain, when switching to/using the new, improved version.”
Community involvement runs deep in the DNA of the event. The entire conference, from programming and speaker selection to web development and visual materials, has been coordinated by over 20 volunteers from around the world.
“The whole event is organised by an amazing team of volunteers,” said Ruth. “Everything from deciding the program, creating the visual and print materials, setting up the website, running the sessions, judging the awards, it’s a global community effort.”
A new addition to this year’s program is the Mautic Awards, which will be presented at the close of the in-person conference on November 5. The awards recognise outstanding contributions to the platform and community, underscoring Mautic’s collaborative spirit and open development model.
While the in-person experience is the focus of the London portion, all sessions are planned to be live-streamed, “all being well with the technology on-site,” organisers note. Track leads will monitor the streams to allow remote viewers to ask questions in real-time, creating a bridge between physical and virtual attendees. For the online event taking place on November 6 and 7, the focus shifts entirely to the global virtual audience. Participants will have access to interactive sessions, including a virtual lounge where they can connect with each other, exchange ideas, and discuss the presentations.
The final two days continue the two-track format with online-only sessions, covering topics such as emerging trends in marketing automation, technical deep-dives into Mautic’s features, and discussions around data privacy, automation ethics, and evolving digital marketing practices. Attendees will also get previews of what’s coming in Mautic Version 7, which is expected to deliver major updates in usability, scalability, and integrations.
Mautic World Conference 2025 reflects a community-led movement that has matured into a global platform. For new users, it offers a chance to learn the ropes. For advanced users and developers, it provides exposure to upcoming features and a space to contribute. And for everyone, it’s a place to connect , whether over coffee in London or through a virtual chatroom, around a shared commitment to open, accessible, ethical marketing automation.
As the community continues to grow and evolve, this year’s hybrid conference serves not just as a showcase of what Mautic can do, but as an invitation to help shape where it goes next.
