Irina Zaks Highlights Module Reporting Recipe for Backdrop CMS
Irina Zaks recently highlighted the Enabled Modules Report Recipe, a configuration package for Backdrop CMS that allows site builders to view and filter all enabled modules by type.
The recipe adds a new report to the administrative menu located at /admin/reports/enabled-modules. This interface lets users filter enabled modules by core, contrib, or custom categories, streamlining communication during support or troubleshooting. Although written for Backdrop CMS version 1.20 or later, the feature addresses a long-standing site-building need: keeping module inventories organized. The recipe installs like any other Backdrop module and appears under the Recipes package on the modules page.
While the tool is built exclusively for Backdrop CMS, its concept resonates with Drupal site builders who also manage extensive module collections.
Irina noted how both Drupal and Backdrop sites accumulate numerous “recipes” that benefit from clearer organization. While the module can be disabled, removal requires manual cleanup since configuration elements persist.
Created by Timothy Erickson and sponsored by Simplo, the recipe is distributed under the GNU General Public License version 2. Feedback is welcome as part of ongoing experimentation with configuration recipes in Backdrop.
More information, including issue tracking and release notes, is available on the project’s GitHub repository.
