DrupalEasy Launches ‘Show & Tell’ YouTube Series Featuring Unrehearsed Drupal Demos
Michael Anello has announced the launch of DrupalEasy Show & Tell, a new YouTube video series aimed at helping Drupal users of all skill levels learn practical techniques and explore contributed modules through informal, real-time demonstrations. The series builds on the format of DrupalEasy's weekly two-hour Office Hours, which have long been a space for students and alumni of the DrupalEasy Learning Community to ask questions and solve problems collaboratively.
The idea for the series emerged from spontaneous demos held during Office Hours sessions. Michael explained that these unrehearsed demonstrations often received positive feedback, even when he was unfamiliar with the topic. This led to the concept of pairing live demos with subject matter experts to make the sessions more structured and broadly accessible. Each episode runs for 30 to 45 minutes and focuses on teaching something practical, whether it's a popular contributed module or a reliable site-building technique.
The first five episodes have already been recorded, with two now available on YouTube. Released episodes feature Darren Oh discussing Drupal Forge and Martin Anderson-Clutz exploring the Storage Entities module. Upcoming episodes will include Nic Laflin on object-oriented hooks, Mike Herchel and Andy Giles on the Dripyard theme, and Ted Bowman on content templates in Drupal Canvas.
Each episode is intentionally unrehearsed to reflect real-world usage and problem-solving. Viewers can subscribe to the DrupalEasy YouTube channel to access the series and other periodic videos, or bookmark the DrupalEasy Show & Tell playlist on DrupalEasy.com. Project maintainers interested in proposing future episode topics are encouraged to get in touch with the DrupalEasy team.
