Maya Schaeffer to Join Drupal Association Board on November 1, 2025
Maya Schaeffer will begin her term on the Drupal Association Board on November 1, 2025. She is known for leading EvolveDigital and EvolveDrupal, where she has been central to rebuilding in-person community engagement after the pandemic. Through summits in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Atlanta, and New York, with Boston scheduled for June 2025, she has connected more than 1,000 attendees, nearly 40 percent of whom came from outside the traditional Drupal community.
Her priorities on the Board include broadening Drupal’s reach beyond developers, strengthening pathways for inclusive contribution, and amplifying the Promote Drupal initiative. She plans to bring a marketing and events perspective to the Association’s work, helping the project tell a clearer story and engaging new voices across industries, roles, and regions.
Schaeffer brings professional experience in event management, marketing, and organizational leadership, skills she says will help align stakeholders and turn strategy into action. She credits the Drupal community with shaping her career, explaining that its openness gave her the confidence to grow, contribute, and build a path in technology.
Outside of Drupal, she represented the United Nations team at the 2024 Ball Hockey World Championship in Switzerland, a milestone that reflects her commitment to trying new challenges. Wayne Gretzky’s advice guides her, “You miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take,” a perspective she applies to both personal growth and community leadership.
The Drupal Association Board will meet publicly at DrupalCon Vienna 2025 to share program updates and engage with the global community. More information is available on the Drupal Association website.
