Iron Diamond Media Upgrades Seven Wedding Publications with Drupal 9
Iron Diamond Media has undertaken a significant digital transformation, taking over seven regional wedding publications previously built on Drupal 7. Recognizing the need for a modernized design and interactive features for couples planning upscale weddings, Iron Diamond Media decided to upgrade to Drupal 9. This move was not only timely due to Drupal 7 reaching its end of life but also an opportunity to introduce fresh designs and innovative features.
Working in collaboration with Triplo and their designer, Iron Diamond Media revamped the entire site design and incorporated a range of new features. One of the key challenges was managing content across all seven sites efficiently. To address this, they leveraged the Domain Access module for Drupal, which allowed them to handle content for all sites within a single Drupal database while maintaining individual custom domain names for each site.
The upgraded sites, including Arizona Bride, California Wedding Day, Minnesota Bride, Nebraska Wedding Day, Oregon Wedding Day, Washington Wedding Day, and Wisconsin Bride, now run on Drupal 9, ensuring the latest security and functionality. Notably, the project introduced a personalized wedding dashboard for couples, featuring interactive planning checklists, budget management tools, RSVP lists, floor plans, and custom wedding pages. This significant overhaul aims to provide an enhanced and engaging experience for couples planning their weddings, emphasizing Drupal's flexibility and capabilities in web development.
