Enhancing Digital Presence for Prince Edward Island Government with Drupal
The Government of Prince Edward Island (PEI) undertook a significant project to enhance its digital presence through a migration to the latest version of Drupal. This initiative aimed to create a robust digital front door that serves residents, visitors, and businesses alike. By migrating over 100,000 bilingual pages, the government ensured that information is accessible and secure, meeting the needs of various stakeholders, including elected officials and non-profit organizations.
The project not only focused on migration but also included a comprehensive redesign of the website. This redesign was aligned with best practices in accessibility and responsive design, ensuring that the site is user-friendly across various devices. The new design reflects the government’s brand while providing a seamless experience for users seeking information and services.
In addition to the visual and structural improvements, the project aimed to simplify the content publishing process. By consolidating workflows, the government was able to remove friction in adding and updating content. This enhancement leveraged Drupal’s flexible content workflows, which are designed to facilitate efficient content management right out of the box.
