Illinois Legal Aid Online (ILAO) has successfully revamped its digital presence with a redefined user-centric approach in collaboration with technology partner QED42. The challenging task of making legal language more accessible to a diverse user base in Illinois has been addressed through the implementation of a new website built on Drupal 8, featuring clear and concise language, an intuitive user interface, and interactive elements. The project involved comprehensive research, stakeholder interviews, and a design-first approach to empathize with users and address their needs. The resulting website offers improved usability, enhanced mobile experience, and streamlined content organization under the Legal Information section.
