Marcus Johansson Reflects on Community and AI Collaboration at Oaisys Conf 2025
Marcus Johansson returned from Oaisys Conf 2025 with praise for what he described as two incredible days of Drupal, AI, and community-driven collaboration that surpassed all expectations.
Writing after the event, Marcus Johansson shared that he and James Abrahams were invited to speak and assist during the contribution sprint. Not knowing what to expect, they instead found momentum, insight, and an energized community eager to collaborate.

He recalled architecture discussions with Harivansh Sharma, Shibin Das, and Hemant Gupta, along with a deep dive into abstraction layers with Shubham Vishwakarma. He also described talking AI with Alphons Jaimon, praising his polyglot expertise across technologies.
Johansson said it was especially meaningful to meet university graduates who had already begun contributing to Drupal AI. He expressed excitement at their early involvement and noted a conversation with Pritam Prasun, who is preparing a new AI product that will integrate with Drupal.
He made a point of recognizing the exceptional efforts of Anjali Prasannan, Prabhavathi Vanipenta, and Prashant Chauhan, who together have closed over 200 issues in the Drupal AI ecosystem. Though Chauhan could not attend, Johansson was able to thank him via video call. He described their efforts as “foundational.”
Johansson also mentioned meeting Akhil Babu and praised a live demo of a Twig-to-SDC tool by Anand Toshniwal. While he delivered a presentation himself, he said the true highlight was the contribution room’s energy.
He ended by thanking the QED42 organizing team, including Dipen Chaudhary and Priyanka Jeph, for creating what he described as an unforgettable event.
