DXPR Debuts AI-First Page Builder for Drupal, Challenges Leading Site Builders
DXPR has released a beta version of its AI-driven page builder for Drupal, positioning it as a serious contender to visual design platforms like Webflow, Elementor, and Divi. Unlike competitors layering AI onto existing tools, DXPR Builder AI was built around AI from the start, reshaping how pages are created, edited, and launched in Drupal.
The builder introduces features like single-prompt page generation, integrated image creation, and AI-assisted content rewriting. Users can describe a page in plain language and receive a usable layout in seconds, generate images on the spot, or clone a competitor’s layout using AI that adapts it to their theme. These tools are designed to work together, removing manual steps and streamlining editorial workflows.
“Other builders are bolting AI features on like an afterthought. We took the opposite approach,” the DXPR team wrote. “Instead of adding AI to a traditional editor, we built the entire experience around AI-first principles.”
DXPR also developed a custom Rust and WebAssembly-based HTML optimizer that reduces AI token usage by 15 percent. This optimization improves generation speed and allows for more complex interactions within the available AI context.
The module, available now on Drupal.org, includes free monthly AI credits and is compatible with version 2.8.0. A live demo shows the builder generating hero sections from plain prompts in real time. Two walkthrough videos, including one narrated by DXPR founder Jurriaan Roelofs, give an unfiltered look at the system in action.
The DXPR team is actively seeking feedback before final release. A dedicated FAQ and feedback page is available for users to report bugs, suggest improvements, or request features.
