Four Kitchens Names Colleen Carroll as CEO, Begins New Era of Women-Led Leadership
Four Kitchens has appointed Colleen Carroll as its new Chief Executive Officer, ushering in a new chapter of leadership grounded in open-source values, technical depth, and women-led collaboration.
Colleen brings a long-standing commitment to mission-driven digital work, having held leadership roles at Palantir.net and One Design Company. Her approach to empowering teams and building sustainable strategy aligns closely with Four Kitchens’ culture of thoughtful, human-centered development—particularly in the higher education sector.
Alongside Carroll, Chief Operating Officer Elia Milán has been named Principal, forming a dual leadership structure that reflects the agency’s collaborative ethos. The company continues to focus on AI-integrated platforms, content strategy, and enrollment-focused tools for colleges and universities.
“This marks a new era for Four Kitchens — one defined by collaboration, creativity, and women leading together,” said Milán. “Colleen’s experience bridges the best of where we’ve been and where we’re headed.”
The transition follows Co-Founder Todd Ross Nienkerk’s decision to step away from daily operations after nearly 20 years. Nienkerk will remain as Owner and Chair, providing guidance while stepping back from day-to-day leadership.
“Four Kitchens is a company built on purpose, trust, and collective creativity,” said Carroll. “I’m honored to join this team, to partner with Elia, and to continue building on the foundation Todd created.”
Carroll’s appointment reflects continuity and evolution for Four Kitchens’ clients. With her technical background and values-driven leadership, the agency is well-positioned to continue delivering digital solutions that scale across content, engagement, and accessibility needs in the education sector.
