Skvare Builds Data-Driven Mentoring Platform for Educational First Steps
Skvare developed a custom Drupal-based system for Educational First Steps (EFS) to support their work transforming daycare centers in low-income neighborhoods into nationally accredited early learning centers across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
The system, named Mentoring Academy and Assessment Profile (MAAP), replaced EFS’s previous system of shared drives and static documents. MAAP allows EFS staff to collect real-time data, manage accreditation steps, and access up-to-date training and assessment records. It tracks progress across a 40-month process divided into four phases, providing dashboards for field staff and directors to view reports, assessments, and training registration. MAAP integrates educational standards, contact management, and site visit data, improving access and reporting across all staff roles.
Skvare used Drupal’s taxonomy and custom modules to build role-specific dashboards and automate functions like mentor logs and scoring assessments. Features include calendar-based training registration, searchable standards, automated data creation for new profiles, and a director dashboard for managing staff. Skvare also conducted over 60 hours of staff training and provides managed hosting for performance and data security. Samantha Moya, Senior Director of Early Learning Programs at EFS, reported that the platform has shortened accreditation timelines and improved data-driven decision-making.
