Global Contribution Day 2026 in Milan to Celebrate 25 Years of Drupal
Drupalists across Italy will gather in Milan on 31 January 2026 for Global Contribution Day 2026, hosted by SparkFabrik as part of the international Drupal Global Contribution Weekend. The event marks 25 years of Drupal innovation and invites participants of all skill levels to contribute to one of the world’s longest‑running open source communities.
The event will be held at SparkFabrik’s offices at Via Gustavo Fara 9, Milan, starting at 10:00. Attendance is free. Up to 20 participants will be able to join in person, while others can take part remotely. Online coordination will be shared through the Drupal Association’s #drupal‑italy Slack channel, according to the organisers.
Contributions are not limited to coding. Participants can help by fixing bugs, writing or translating documentation, supporting marketing initiatives, or contributing to frontend and backend development. The organisers note that Drupal depends on a broad range of skills and welcomes designers, writers, translators, and communicators alongside developers.
SparkFabrik says the day is designed to combine hands‑on contribution with professional development and community networking. The event follows the tradition of local and global Drupal contribution weekends, which take place each January to strengthen collaboration across the open source ecosystem. Registration is now open.
