Lullabot Team to Present Accessibility Strategies at DrupalCon Chicago

Governments and higher education institutions face increasing pressure to ensure accessibility across digital platforms, yet many remain stuck at basic compliance.

Ahead of DrupalCon Chicago 2026, accessibility advocates from Lullabot are preparing to share their expertise in building inclusive platforms for public institutions. In the session “Future-Proofing Accessibility: Strategies for Government & University Platforms,” Javier Reartes, Kat Shaw, and Monica Flores will present lessons drawn from working with the states of Iowa, Maryland, and Georgia, as well as universities like UMass Amherst and NYU.

Kat Shaw and M. Nikki Flores, both certified by the International Association of Accessibility Professionals, collaborate with Reartes to implement accessibility not as a feature, but as a foundational practice across digital projects. Their talk will demonstrate how accessibility can be integrated from the outset, beginning with project planning and design and continuing through development, quality assurance, and content entry.

The session is scheduled for Tuesday, 24 March 2026, from 15:00 to 15:50 CDT at the Hilton Chicago. It forms part of the broader DrupalCon Chicago 2026 event taking place from 23 to 26 March, which brings together developers, strategists, and community leaders from around the Drupal ecosystem.
