First Ever Southwestern Ontario Drupal Camp Kicks Off Tomorrow in Kitchener
Southwestern Ontario’s Drupal community is set to gather tomorrow as the first ever Southwestern Ontario Drupal Camp takes place at the Kitchener Public Library.
This inaugural regional event promises a full day of learning, connection, and collaboration for anyone working with—or curious about—Drupal. Attendees can expect a packed schedule featuring an opening keynote, sessions for all skill levels, and networking opportunities, all complemented by free lunch and refreshments.
Organized by the Waterloo Region Drupal Users Group (WRDUG), the camp builds on nearly two decades of local community engagement. WRDUG, active since 2007, is one of Canada’s longest-running Drupal user groups. The event also receives support from the recently established Drupal Canada Association, a nonprofit aiming to promote Drupal through regional meetups and camps across the country.
Organizers Martin Anderson-Clutz, Salman Jaffery, and Kathryn Carruthers have been instrumental in bringing this initiative to life. The day’s programming includes sessions on accessibility, design, development, content strategy, and site building, with a strong focus on community exchange.
The event is scheduled for October 24 at the central branch of the Kitchener Public Library and is free for all attendees. Whether you're a veteran Drupal developer or a newcomer exploring open-source technologies, the camp welcomes participants from across the region to engage, learn, and connect.
More information and registration details are available on the official event page on Drupal.org.
