Draft Business Model for Drupal Federation Open for Feedback

The Network of European Drupal Associations is inviting community feedback on a draft business model for a proposed international federation of local Drupal associations. Developed by the International Federation Working Group, the draft outlines membership requirements, shared responsibilities, and collaborative programs designed to strengthen sustainability and global cooperation.

The proposal envisions a federated structure where local associations that meet criteria such as legal incorporation and active programming could become voting members in a General Assembly. The model includes shared revenue streams, joint fundraising campaigns, coordinated branding, and event support, along with initiatives such as a Drupal Certified Partner program and digital sponsorship opportunities.

Feedback is being collected via a public survey ahead of a scheduled meeting on Aug. 29. The working group stresses that the document is in draft form and that community responses will shape the next version.
