First Drupal Meetup Uruguay Attracts 30 Attendees and Four Expert Talks
On Thursday, August 7, 2025, Uruguay’s Drupal community came together for the first-ever Drupal Meetup Uruguay. Held in the Friendship Park Multipurpose Room in Montevideo, the event drew around 30 attendees for an evening focused on knowledge sharing, collaboration, and community building.
The meetup featured four presentations that highlighted the diverse and expanding scope of Drupal:
Luis Sanchez – Trust Infrastructure: The Missing Piece for Responsible AI in Regulated Sectors
Rubisiel Prieto – Contributing with Drupal
Leandro Mesa – Editorial Artificial Intelligence: Automation, Content Creation, and More
Federico Anton – Automating Drupal Deployment with Deployer
Attendees also took part in selecting the community’s new logo. Several designs were shared, and the group voted to choose the one that best represents the local Drupal identity.
Organizers called the turnout encouraging for a first event and confirmed that planning has already started for a follow-up, which is expected to take place in August or September. The aim is to create a recurring space for learning, support, and innovation within the Drupal ecosystem in Uruguay.
Special thanks go to JJuan Pedro Izquierdo, Business Development Manager at Kadabra, and Luis Sanchez, CEO at Kadabra, for helping share content and supporting the event. Their efforts, along with those of the organizing team, made the evening a success.
