Sofiane Boudadi to Present on Drupal and Sustainable Aviation at DrupalCon Vienna
Sofiane Boudadi will speak at DrupalCon Vienna on 16 October, presenting "Fueling the Future: How Drupal and Open Source Propel the Airline Industry Towards Carbon Neutrality". The session will detail how open-source technologies, including Drupal, are helping the aviation sector progress toward the European Union’s carbon neutrality target for 2050, with a 55% reduction goal by 2030.
Drawing from a real-world project with the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), Sofiane will explain how a data-driven Drupal platform collects refuelling data, generates sustainability labels for airlines, and makes this information publicly accessible via a portal, website, and app. The presentation will also explore how the open-source DXP (Drupal + Mautic) supports marketing strategies that encourage environmentally conscious travel.
Attendees will gain insights into tackling technical and change management challenges in a highly regulated industry, best practices for building complex Drupal platforms, and ways to apply open-source technology to climate transition initiatives.
