Online Event: Simplify Drupal Contrib Module Development with Claude Code
Drupal developers will have an opportunity to explore a new approach to module creation during an online session hosted by Alejandro Madrigal on Friday, July 4, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM CST. The event titled “Creating a Drupal contrib module using Claude Code” will showcase how Anthropic’s Claude Code can speed up the building of Drupal contrib modules.
The session will focus on simplifying the creation of display selector components. These components often rely on form-alter hooks to convert paragraph widget text fields into select inputs, a process that can involve redundant code. Madrigal aims to demonstrate techniques for reducing repetition and improving maintainability.
Attendees will see practical examples using Mercury Editor and SDC, learn form-alter strategies and selector hook usage, and watch a live test of the generated module in a Drupal environment. The presentation will also assess whether Claude Code can act as a true development partner rather than just an automated tool.
