DrupalCamp Berlin 2024: Reviving Community Spirit with Innovation and Collaboration
Ten years after DrupalCity Berlin 2014, the Drupal community reunited in the heart of Europe for DrupalCamp Berlin 2024, an event that brought together enthusiasts and professionals from across the globe. 1xINTERNET has published a blog post, authored by Norman Kämper-Leymann that dives deep into the details of the event. The week-long celebration, dubbed "Drupal Week," included a Drupal Business Day at JAKALA’s Berlin office and the prestigious Splash Awards, culminating in a remarkable DrupalCamp at the historic Alte Münze venue.
Organized by a dedicated team, including Norman Kämper-Leymann of 1xINTERNET and Niklas Franke of Factorial, the event embodied collaboration. With contributions from volunteers and sponsors, the team launched a comprehensive event website and coordinated logistics to host over 150 attendees. The venue, a former coin-minting plant dating back to 1280, provided an inspiring setting with its high ceilings and picturesque riverfront views.
Highlights included engaging sessions, a keynote by Baddy Sonja Breidert on Drupal's future, and a vibrant social evening at Berlin’s legendary c-base hacker space. Attendees enjoyed vegetarian and vegan cuisine and the generosity of sponsors like Factorial, who ensured endless coffee supply.
The event concluded with a contribution day at JAKALA’s office, reinforcing Drupal's collaborative spirit. DrupalCamp Berlin 2024 exemplified the community's resilience and passion, paving the way for future innovation and camaraderie.
