Next-Drupal 2.0: Speed and Developer Enhancements
John Faber, Managing Partner at Chapter Three, recently announced significant enhancements to Next-Drupal, a decoupled Drupal front-end product, with the launch of Next-Drupal 2.0. The update leverages Next.js's new App Router feature to speed up content rendering by shifting some processes to the server side, aiming for an even faster user experience. Next-Drupal 2.0 introduces 'Draft Mode,' improving the developer experience by allowing changes to be previewed without full application rebuilds.
Although still in alpha, the upgraded platform is available for users of Next-Drupal 1.6 to test, as detailed on their roadmap and updated contribution documents. Faber emphasizes the advancements in speed and user-friendliness, positioning Next-Drupal 2.0 as an essential tool for modernizing Drupal site front-ends.
