Commerce PayPay Module Adds QR Payment Support for Drupal Commerce
Commerce PayPay is a new beta module that brings mobile QR code payment functionality to Drupal Commerce, offering merchants an option to integrate Japan’s widely used PayPay service into their online stores.
Created by Rémi Simaer, the module supports key payment operations including immediate capture and delayed authorization flows. When enabled, it generates dynamic QR codes that customers can scan using the PayPay app, initiating a secure and fast checkout experience. Merchants can also process full or partial refunds through the same system.
The module includes a configuration panel within the Commerce payment gateway interface, allowing administrators to input API credentials, toggle between sandbox and production environments, and choose between capture or authorization workflows. This setup ensures compatibility with common testing and deployment practices.
Commerce PayPay is currently in beta and explicitly marked as not covered by Drupal’s security advisory policy. Users are advised to assess its stability and security risk before deploying in live environments. The latest release, version 1.0.0-beta2, was published on November 30, 2025, and is compatible with Drupal 11. Installation is available via Composer using the specified beta package.
