About
I have been an avid technology enthusiast for much of my life. The first website I built in the late 1990s for my middle football team using basic HTML and hosting via American Online. From there, I had several blogs and personal project sites and used various content management systems with varying degrees of success before stumbling upon Drupal. At the time, I was most interested in finding a content management system with an active community that could be versatile enough to build a wide variety of web applications.
Drupal proved to be the solution I was looking for with its vast library of contributed themes and modules. Community-contributed modules can provide the functionality needed to build almost any application, and the built-in APIs make it easy to override virtually any feature of the content management system in a way that's easy to maintain and deliver results.
Many Drupalers say they come for the code and stay for the community; that could not be more true for me. I have been fortunate to meet and work with a diverse group of developers worldwide and have had the fantastic opportunity to speak at various Drupal events across North America.
