Radio Študent

Radio Študent, based in Ljubljana, Slovenia, is a non-commercial community radio station established in 1969. It aims to provide a platform for students and under-represented social groups, promoting inclusion, diversity, and democracy. The station broadcasts 24 hours a day on 89.3 MHz, online, and via DAB+, reaching a wide audience across Slovenia.

Radio Študent adheres to high professional and ethical journalistic standards and serves as an educational institution, offering training programs for young journalists and media professionals. With over 200 active contributors, the station covers various topics, including politics, music, culture, science, and education, while fostering a culture of critique and pluralism.

The station supports marginalized communities by providing them with the tools to express their voices through dedicated programming. This includes music subcultures, alternative culture, and special broadcasts for ethnic and social minorities. Radio Študent also organizes public events to connect these communities with the broader society.

In addition to local initiatives, Radio Študent participates in European projects aimed at combating hate speech and promoting democratic values.
