VDAB

VDAB (Vlaamse Dienst voor Arbeids Bemiddeling) serves as the public employment service for Flanders and is the largest job site in Belgium. The organization connects employers with job seekers and addresses knowledge gaps by offering modular education and training programs. VDAB has migrated its websites to D10, integrating Java applications with front-end widgets tailored to user profiles on both the main site and the employer site. The intranet features knowledge bases for support services and has been designed as a task-oriented workspace rather than a traditional news platform. The organization provides a modular homepage with widgets that assist specific tasks or teams. Additionally, VDAB's extranet offers partners the necessary tools and information to perform their roles effectively. The Drupal team, consisting of 12 full-time employees, is part of a larger Software Factory with over 200 staff members within the VDAB I&T department, which employs more than 400 individuals. With nearly 5,000 employees, VDAB has focused on enhancing digital interactions with customers, including job seekers and companies. The education department has a robust online learning component, which is continuously expanding.
