The University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science (UMCES) conducts environmental research, provides scientific advice to policymakers, and offers education and training to develop future environmental leaders. Its focus includes studying and managing Maryland's natural resources, Chesapeake Bay restoration, and global environmental issues through a network of laboratories and interdisciplinary projects.
