Road safety

The Road Safety Department develops and implements road safety policy and supports interministerial action in this area. Its main missions are: . coordinating legislative and regulatory work for the Highway Code, . defining the rules and conditions for organizing driving license exams as well as provisions relating to driving instruction and road safety, . managing professional networks for driving instruction and road safety, . promoting road safety policy at the national and local levels and implementing partnerships at the national level, . automated enforcement of traffic violations: designing and implementing automated enforcement and processing systems for traffic violations, exercising oversight of the National Agency for Automated Offense Processing (ANTAI), . communication and information on road safety, . Studies and experiments in the field of road safety, with the support of the National Interministerial Road Safety Observatory (ONISR), . The implementation of automated driver's license processing (national driver's license system) and the vehicle registration system. Road Safety is attached to the Ministry of the Interior and headed by Florence Guillaume, Interministerial Delegate for Road Safety.
