The U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) is an independent, bipartisan body that assists election officials in improving election administration and facilitating voter participation. Established by the Help America Vote Act of 2002, the EAC develops guidance, adopts voluntary voting system guidelines, certifies voting systems, and serves as a national information clearinghouse on election administration.
